• ZAANSE SCHANS
  

The Zaanse Schans is a kind of museum village where you will still find characteristic centuries old wooden houses. As well as original Dutch industrial windmills.

Visit an old windmill and smell the chocolate in the air of the chocolate factories of the region.

Wooden Shoe Factory

Perhaps you like to visit the local ‘wooden shoe’ maker and taste some of the many different kind of Dutch cheeses.

• EDAM

Famous for the Edammer cheese, you will love this gorgeous little town of Edam with old cheese warehouses. You will walk the streets and hear the stories of it’s wealthy history.

• VOLENDAM

Visit this former fishermen village, she many souvenirshops on the dike and see the fishermen ships in the harbour.

• MARKEN

On this Peninsula in the former Zuiderzee (Southern Sea) it seems the time stood still for centuries. Black wooden houses form a maze on the former island. With our guide you won’t get lost!

• BEEMSTER

If you wish we can drive you through the Beemster. A former lake that was dried up by the Dutch centuries ago. Making it a very special area.

This tour can be done in 5 – 8 hours, with pick-up and drop-off at you hotel in Amsterdam. Depending on the length of the tour, more villages can be visited and/or added to the tour. If you wish, this tour can also include a visit to a cheesefarm and/or wooden shoe factory.
